The Foreign Residents department, headed by councillor Laura López, continues to work on the programme of activities for the International Meeting, which returns to the municipal calendar after a break of the last two years due to the pandemic.

Eager to resume this event, López met a few days ago with participants from previous years, as well as with new residents interested in joining the initiative, to tell them the date set for the event, which will take place from 11 to 14 May.

On 11, 12 and 13 May there will be performances by the different participating countries at various points around the town, and on Saturday 14 May stalls serving typical food from the different regions will be set up. As usual, Families’ Day will also be held at the Castillo de la Duquesa.

As Laura López explained, this year the meeting has been extended so that everyone can enjoy a very important initiative, given the multiculturalism of the municipality, which has more than 90 nationalities on its register of residents (padrón), which is why this annual event draws such a large following.
