One person injured after ceiling collapses in a home in Manilva

-

Last night’s collapse of the plaster ceiling in a home gave residents a fright, and left one person injured. The incident happened when part of the false ceiling in a living room came down inside the property.

According to the Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos de la Diputación de Málaga (the Málaga Provincial Fire Service) on its social media accounts, the incident took place at a property on calle Cuartel. After the call was received, a fire crew from the Estepona station went to the scene to deal with the emergency.

Once inside the home, the firefighters found that the plaster ceiling of the property had come down. According to the information provided by the Consorcio, the collapse was apparently caused by water leaks from the flat above.

The person who was injured was treated at the scene by health services, although no further details about their condition have been released so far.

The firefighters secured the area after the incident and carried out debris clearance work inside the home to remove the remains of the fallen ceiling and ensure safety in the property.
