Officers from the Policía Nacional have arrested a 35-year-old Romanian woman in Manilva (Málaga) on the basis of a valid European arrest warrant issued by the German authorities in connection with a computer fraud offence.

The fugitive was identified and arrested on 10 February near her home in San Luis de Sabinillas, when an officer checked her identity and found that an active warrant was out against her.

The woman had been the subject of a European arrest warrant issued by the German authorities for a computer crime since 28 December 2021. Once the validity of the court warrant had been confirmed, the suspect was arrested and taken to the police station, according to a statement from the Provincial Police Headquarters.

According to the warrant, the woman was wanted by a court in Fürth (Germany) over acts committed between 14 and 19 August 2021. She is alleged to have obtained the details of a bank card, together with its PIN, and to have defrauded the cardholder of more than 10,000 euros, the amount corresponding to the loss caused.

This type of offence carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison under the law of the requesting country. The detainee has been brought before Central Court number 4 of the Audiencia Nacional.
