This event, organised by the Club «Los Kruos» and the Sports department, will offer two races of 12 and 21 kilometres and a limit of 400 participants, which has once again proved too low.
This Saturday 17 January 2026, the VII Trail Manilva will take place, a race that combines physical challenge with enjoyment of the town’s natural surroundings. It is jointly organised by the Club Deportivo Senderista «Los Kruos» and the Sports department of the Town Hall.
Two race categories
With the aim of encouraging participation by runners of different levels, the organisers have designed two distinct routes, both starting and finishing at Plaza Martín Carpena, next to the Las Viñas Sports Hall:
Long Race: A demanding route of approximately 21 kilometres with a cumulative positive elevation gain of around 800-850 metres. This race is intended for the most experienced runners.
Short Race: At a distance of 12 kilometres and with a positive elevation gain of 600 metres, this category shares much of the initial and final stretches of the long route, making it an ideal option for those looking for a more explosive distance or wanting to get started in trail running.
The start for both categories will be given simultaneously at 10:30.
The entry fee includes timing, refreshment points, accident insurance, medical services, a runner’s bag and access to showers and a cloakroom.
Rules and «Semi-self-sufficiency»
The organisers have stressed the eco-responsible nature of the race. The event will be run on the principle of semi-self-sufficiency. This means that no plastic cups will be provided at the refreshment points; each runner must carry their own container.
In addition, a list of compulsory equipment has been established to guarantee safety, which includes:
- Water container (minimum 0.5 litres).
- Charged mobile phone.
- Thermal blanket.
- Whistle.
- Reusable cup or container.
Failure to comply with these rules, as well as dropping litter in the natural environment, will result in immediate disqualification.
Race number collection
To make logistics easier and avoid crowding on race day, local runners are advised to collect their race number on Friday 16 January, from 18:00 to 20:00 at the Pabellón de Usos Múltiples (multi-purpose hall). It will also be possible to collect it on the day of the race, from 08:00 until 30 minutes before the start.
For more information, interested parties can call the number set up by the organisers: 675 309 632.
