The Martagina area, in the west of the municipality of Manilva, can now boast new infrastructure. The company Small Oasis, as a neighbouring developer, has helped to enhance this part of the municipality by taking part in the execution of major improvements and construction work with an investment of more than 3 million euros.

Today saw the inauguration of the main access road to this area, where the Small Oasis complex is located, as well as a newly built drinking water tank and another that has been refurbished. The work was carried out with the expected short- to medium-term population growth in mind and will guarantee future residents the necessary supplies of both water and electricity.

The old Camino de Martagina has become a wide, straight avenue, with four lanes for most of its length. It is a comfortable and spacious road that makes it easier to reach the homes built in the developable areas of this zone. Specifically, the road is 1.8 kilometres long and has two carriageways in each direction, each 3.2 metres wide, a landscaped central reservation and pavements, with parking on one of the sides.
In addition, two drinking water tanks of 1,500 m3 and 700 m3 have been built and are now in operation to supply the whole of the Martagina and La Equina area.
The total investment is 3.3 million euros.

The inauguration was attended by the mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez; the Urbanisations councillor, Laura López; the Urban Planning councillor, Marcos Ruiz; a representative of the construction company Urinci; the local manager of Small Oasis, Javier del Carpio, together with other members of the development’s sales team, as well as residents and business people from the municipality.

The Urban Planning councillor, Marcos Ruiz, said that this inauguration is an important milestone for Manilva, since after many years of this work being at a standstill, the main road of the Camino de Martagina is finally under way and the water tanks, which guarantee supply for the area, are coming into service. The councillor also added: «well-managed public/private collaboration is a guarantee that we can undertake important projects such as the one we are inaugurating today, for which we have had the contribution of the developer El Pequeño Oasis».

Félix Pera spoke on behalf of the construction company Urinci and highlighted the execution of this new package of infrastructure, made possible by an agreement between Small Oasis and Manilva Town Hall.

Laura López, the Urbanisations councillor, wished to highlight the private investment made in this work, stating that public-private collaboration «creates city and is commendable management on the part of the Town Hall».

The local manager of Small Oasis, Javier del Carpio, thanked the Manilva council for its collaboration and for all its work. «The project that we call «great life» is also a great life because there are guaranteed high-quality supplies with the road, the tanks, etc., to which sports areas and communal areas for everyone’s enjoyment will soon be added», said Del Carpio.

The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, thanked residents for their patience and stressed that the work of the governing team and the Urban Planning department is carried out with complete seriousness, honesty and rigour, giving investors certainty and legal security. These infrastructure works benefit both the Small Oasis complex and all residents of the area.

The Small Oasis project on the Costa del Sol

Small Oasis is a development of more than 500 homes of various types that is proving very popular with Spanish and foreign buyers, who are looking for either a holiday location or a permanent residence.

It should be noted that the first phase of Small Oasis comprises 258 homes, of which some 200 apartments have already been sold. In this first phase, which obtained its first occupancy licence last November, the first owners are already living there and deeds continue to be signed.

The second phase of this complex, made up of 144 luxury apartments, is also now being marketed. These are large residential homes with 2 and 3 bedrooms, and penthouses with solariums. The communal areas include gardens, swimming pools, a barbecue area and a Clubhouse.
