The Summer Coastal Transport Programme is one of the initiatives included in the Andalusian Transport and Mobility Infrastructure Plan (PITMA). Its main objective is to guarantee a public transport connection that allows people to enjoy the coastal area conveniently and affordably, beyond the services and reinforcements already provided by the Metropolitan Transport Consortia. The initiative aims to prevent the isolation of some small municipalities far from the coast, as well as to promote the use of public transport over dependence on private cars.

Sabinillas beach will receive bathers on Saturdays in July and August thanks to this initiative, which will bring residents looking for a swim from the towns of Cortes de la Frontera, Algatocín, Benarrabá and Gaucín.

The prices of the services will be as follows:

  • Cortes de la Frontera – Sabinillas beach = 4€
  • Cortes station – Sabinillas beach = 3.75€
  • Algatocín – Sabinillas beach = 3.20€
  • Benarrabá junction – Sabinillas beach = 2.85€
  • Gaucín – Sabinillas beach = 2.50€

The return journey to each destination will cost the same and will leave from Sabinillas beach at 19:00. Each municipality has a number of reserved seats, so interested residents of each town will need to book this service in advance at their respective Town Hall.
