The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, and the councillors for Urban Planning and for Infrastructure and Works, Marcos Ruiz and Diego José Jiménez, accompanied by councillor Dani Muñoz and municipal technicians, have held an important meeting with the professionals who have carried out the project for the Pedestrian Footbridge over the A-7, which will connect the La Paloma and Playa Paraíso housing developments.
At 194.02 metres long and with a usable width of 1.80 m, this route will make it easier to reach both developments, which are heavily used by residents and by visitors who come to that beach in large numbers.
In terms of safety, this is a fundamental step forward for municipal infrastructure, as well as providing greater convenience in an area where crossing the road was very dangerous.
The footbridge covered by the project is for pedestrian use and can be divided into three clearly differentiated sections: the ramp on the north side, the main span over the A-7, and the ramp on the south side.
This is the first step towards this area finally having a pedestrian footbridge.
Manilva Town Hall continues working on the installation of other footbridges within the municipality, and is requesting the relevant permits from the roads authority (Carreteras).
