The Las Viñas sports hall hosted the presentation of the 11 teams of CD Manilva Basketbase, both educational league and federated sides. In a great atmosphere and a spectacular setting, everyone present, including families, club officials and sponsors, was able to support the Manilva players, who will represent our town across the province of Málaga this season.
The club’s new crest was also presented, along with the logo commemorating the tenth anniversary of the sports club, which is chaired by Rafael Mena, as well as the sponsors for the current season.
The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, and the sports councillor, Manolo Gil, also attended the event, along with Diego José Jiménez, Francisco Becerra and Agustín Vargas, representing the Town Hall.
The most emotional moments came with the surprise tribute to coach Javier Montañez, whose work and professional career with the club, and with the provincial, regional and national teams, they wished to recognise.
Two videos were shown recalling his successes in images, including messages of congratulation from former players and coaches who have worked with him. Visibly moved, he also received various gifts from CD Manilva Basketbase and the Town Hall.
The event ended with a group photo of all the participants.
