Manilva has seen COVID-19 positive cases rise again, pushing its active incidence rate above the limit of 1,000 (cases per 100,000 inhabitants) set by the Junta de Andalucía for tightening the current measures and moving to Level 4 Grade 2. As a result, our municipality will be reviewed next Monday by the provincial committee of experts, which will decide whether to close all non-essential commercial activity from 00:00 next Wednesday for at least 14 days in an attempt to slow the rate of infections.

Next Monday the committee will meet again to review the situation once more and order the closure of non-essential shops in the remaining municipalities that exceed an active incidence rate of 1,000 (cases per 100,000 inhabitants), which would come into force next Wednesday.

Yesterday, Thursday, the provincial committee met to order the closure of non-essential shops in another 26 municipalities in the province of Málaga that also exceeded these levels, and which as a result will not be able to open their doors from this Sunday: Ronda, Arriate, Villanueva del Trabuco, Mollina, Cútar, Alfarnatejo, Alcaucín, Alfarnate, Alfarnatejo, Benamocarra, El Borge, Salares, Cútar, Vélez-Málaga, Alameda, Almargen, Cañete La Real, Mollina, Teba, Villanueva del Trabuco, Moclinejo, Cartajima, Faraján, Igualeja, Alhaurín el Grande, Álora, Ardales, Coín and Monda.

The opening to the public of conventional sports facilities and sports centres for physical activity that is not outdoors is suspended, except for official professional or non-professional sporting activity.

In addition, non-federated sporting competitions and events of any age category are temporarily suspended, as are federated ones, except for age categories from 16 years up to senior level.

  • Catering services within healthcare, social-healthcare and social centres and services, school canteens and social canteen services.

Visits to residential care homes for older people are also suspended, as are in-person congresses, conferences, business meetings, professional meetings, seminars, residents’ association meetings and similar events.

In-person public shows and recreational and cultural activities are suspended. Gambling establishments are also affected.

Museums, cinemas and theatres are to close to the public, as are, in general, all establishments or activities whose purpose is recreation, leisure or entertainment. Activities will be permitted if they are recorded for broadcast by audiovisual media.

Likewise, peñas, gastronomic, cultural and recreational associations and similar establishments are to close, except those with a charitable purpose.

In-person examinations for selection procedures of the Administration of the Junta de Andalucía are also postponed.

At grades 1 and 2 of this level, in-person activity will continue in all vocational training centres, conservatoires, language schools, academies, adult continuing education centres and other similar centres.

The order also sets occupancy limits on public transport and requires a minimum frequency of services.
