This morning, first-year pupils from the Pablo Picasso school in Manilva were able to get up close to a variety of animals, thanks to an initiative held in the plaza de la Vendimia, as councillor Daniel Muñoz, who was present throughout the activity, told us.
The idea came from Ana de la Chica, the mother of a pupil at the school, who suggested to her daughter’s teacher that the children could get to know farm animals, as most of them are not familiar with them.
In this way, the plaza de la Vendimia welcomed a pony, goats, ducks, hens and a parrot, among others. All of these animals were lent for the occasion by various local residents.
The education department took charge of the event’s logistics and also contributed an animal face-painting workshop.
Antonio Ortiz, a teacher at the school, spoke to us about the aims of the activity.
The children, who enjoyed themselves greatly over these hours, were very pleased to have been able to get close to these species that are part of our daily lives.
