The Guardia Civil has arrested a man accused of nine offences of theft and criminal damage committed in several residential complexes in Manilva.
The investigation began after several complaints were received in January about a number of thefts from inside storage rooms, as well as damage to the access areas leading to them. The perpetrator had been recorded by the security cameras of the residents’ associations affected by the thefts and, following the relevant enquiries, he was identified. He has numerous police records for similar offences.
He was subsequently located and arrested in the municipality of Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) and, after the relevant proceedings were drawn up, was handed over to the competent judicial authority. At the time of his arrest, the man was carrying tools and equipment of the kind commonly used to commit this type of offence.
The operation was carried out by officers from the Guardia Civil Company of Marbella. The detainees have been brought before the court.
