Thanks to the efforts of the councillor for Infrastructure, Diego José Jiménez, and the councillor for the Vehicle Fleet department, Alba Jiménez, the waiting time for line 1 of the private transport company Avanza will be reduced from 4 to 2 hours as it passes through our town.
The municipal officials have held several meetings with the managers of the company so that our municipality, a compulsory route for scheduled buses, has a better service in terms of both waiting times and timetable options.
This improvement in services for residents, which will cover the summer period, has required constant insistence on the part of the Town Hall, as this is a private service over which the council has no authority.
The two-hour reduction in waiting times on line 1, Estepona-La Línea, where the service calls at the stops of Sabinillas, Puerto de la Duquesa, El Castillo, Camping Chullera, Aldea Beach and Tubalitas, has been made possible by an increase in the frequency of bus services.
It should be remembered that line 2 is also important for residents, as from Monday to Friday it takes people to the Costa del Sol hospital, as does line 3 from Málaga to Sabinillas and vice versa.
The company has published the timetables on its website, along with a telephone number, 955038665, where any queries can be made.
