On Saturday the first day of the Provincial Cup was held at the Ciudad de la Petanca en Sabinillas (Petanque City in Sabinillas), organised by the Diputación de Málaga (Málaga Provincial Council) in collaboration with Manilva Town Hall.

Also attending were the sports councillor, Manolo Gil, the first deputy mayor, Diego José Jiménez, and councillors Eva Galindo, Francisco Becerra and Daniel Muñoz.
With 32 participants from the local Club CASAMA, our team achieved the best results, ahead of the municipalities of Istán and Jimera de Líbar.

The president of Club CASAMA, José Pajares, was pleased with how the event went, in which the most important thing was taking part and sharing a laugh.
According to the sports councillor, outdoor activities are essential for our older residents, which is why this type of physical exercise will continue to be promoted.

Town Hall officials highlighted the good atmosphere throughout this tournament, which brought together so many people at top-class facilities.
It is worth noting that every Wednesday from 6 October until 24 November, a Petanque Workshop will be held in the town.

The sessions will take place from 11:00 to 12:00 at the Las Viñas Football Ground, in Manilva.

Gil encourages our older residents to join this initiative, in which they can enjoy the activity in an excellent atmosphere.
