Manilva Town Hall’s tourism councillor, Eva Galindo, joins the Board of Directors of the RVRM as a board member.
The General Assembly of Members of the Ronda and Málaga Wine Route has approved the new organisation chart of the route’s Board of Directors, and it receives the support of regional, provincial and local institutions, around a common strategy for the responsible development of the wine tourism product of the province of Málaga. The RVRM is made up of Manilva, Axarquía, Serranía de Ronda and the «Norte de Málaga» area.
The Centro Integral del Vino de Ronda was the venue for the meeting at which the members of the new board were appointed. It will be chaired by the current president of the Association of Winegrowers of the Serranía de Ronda, Pedro Morales, and has the mayor, Mª Paz Fernández, as honorary president. She was present at the meeting and said that «this is a joint task on which steps have been taken for over a decade, initially hand in hand with the institutions, although it is the producers and those who form part of the route who have always given the greatest push to this kind of initiative, from which we all benefit».
Fernández congratulated Pedro Morales as President, thanked the members for proposing that the Honorary Presidency fall to her as Mayor of Ronda, and expressed the institutional support of the town’s Town Hall.
After the certification of the Ronda and Málaga Wine Route (RVRM) as a Wine Route of Spain was renewed by ACEVIN a few months ago, it was necessary to establish a new organisational and management structure in line with the route’s new provincial territorial reality. For this reason, the Ordinary Session of the General Assembly of members of the Ronda and Málaga Wine Route was held today in our town, at which the new organisation chart of the RVRM board of directors was approved, among other matters.
The guests attending were Margarita del Cid, second vice-president of the Diputación de Málaga and Managing Director of Turismo Costa del Sol, and Nuria Rodríguez Cubero, Provincial Tourism Delegate in Málaga, which shows the significant institutional support, at both provincial and regional level, that the Wine Route will receive, as it is considered a key and fundamental element in the tourism development of the province of Málaga.
The new Board of Directors, representative of the RVRM’s new territorial reality, is completed by the following organisation chart:
Executive Vice-President. This representative and executive post, newly created in the Board of Directors’ organisation chart, goes to José Manuel Moreno Ferreiro, who is also Secretary General of the Regulatory Council of the Designations of Origin «Málaga», «Sierras de Málaga» and «Pasas de Málaga»; Treasurer, Oscar León Morales (with extensive experience in the local tourism sector in general and in travel agencies in particular); Secretary, Antonio Martínez González (entrepreneur and businessman linked to wine tourism in the Serranía de Ronda).
The following join as board members:
- Jesús Vázquez García (First Deputy Mayor of Ronda Town Hall and promoter of the former Ronda Wine Route);
- Ángel Martínez Delgado (Ronda Tourism Councillor);
- José María Losantos Hernando (winemaker and current president of the Regulatory Council of the Designations of Origin «Málaga», «Sierras de Málaga» and «Pasas de Málaga»;
- Eugenio Sevillano Ordoñez (Mayor of Mollina);
- Evangelina de Jesús Galindo Peralta (Manilva Tourism Councillor);
- Juan Muñoz Anaya (representing the Axarquía, and head of Bodegas Dimobe);
- Miguel Herrera Benítez, (representing the Serranía de Ronda and a businessman in hotels, catering and gastronomic training)
- Bartolomé Nieto González, (with extensive experience in tourism research, planning and management, he was one of the technical promoters of the former Wine and Wineries Route of the Serranía de Ronda), who will be the new Technical Coordinator of the Ronda and Málaga Wine Route.
In addition to the Board of Directors, the RVRM Executive Committee has been formed and the creation of a future Technical Committee was approved, which will be representative, participatory and proactive and will be made up of technical representatives of public and private entities, institutions and organisations of provincial and regional importance.
The aim of the new Board of Directors will be to drive forward the Route project, which currently has 48 members, around a common public-private strategy for the responsible development of the wine tourism product of the province of Málaga.
