Manilva Town Hall is finalising the Beach Campaign for this summer. To that end, both the mayor, Mario Jiménez, and the Beaches councillor are setting out the organisational structure required to offer the best possible service to residents.
One of the key aspects is the lifeguard service on our beaches. The tendering procedure for this service, with the opening of bids held at Manilva Town Hall, is at the bid evaluation stage. The only bidder was the local company SOCOSOL, S.L.
The tender specifications cover the provision of Medical Assistance, Surveillance, Lifeguard and Rescue services on Manilva’s beaches during the summer season of 2021.
The service will consist of watching over bathers, an information service, the placing of danger warning flags, assistance for people with disabilities, searching for and rescuing people, treatment of minor injuries and monitoring of the environment. It will also include accident prevention measures in the aquatic environment and ensuring first medical assistance, first aid and the transfer of casualties in emergency situations.
The professionals must also help with providing information in order to keep the bathing area completely clear of animals and objects that could pose a danger to bathers. They must enforce the ban on motorboats, water skiers and those taking part in similar activities travelling illegally or endangering users in the bathing area, and the requirement that they enter and leave the water only at the places designated for that purpose. In general, they must prevent any kind of activity that could be dangerous to bathers.
The contractor will provide a 24-hour telephone helpline.
The Medical Assistance, Surveillance, Lifeguard and Rescue Service on Manilva’s beaches will operate from 12:00 to 20:00, including public holidays, and will continue until 12 September 2021.
