The Manilva Local Police continue with their weekly operations, aimed at monitoring the situation regarding the pandemic, vehicle traffic and assistance to residents to promote good coexistence.
According to the Head of the Local Police, Juan Montero, traffic checks are being carried out these days as part of the campaign to monitor and check safety devices, child restraint systems and seat belts in vehicles, for the safety of minors.
As we have already reported, the Local Police have been equipped with a digital breathalyser, which they share with their counterparts in Casares.
As for incidents, there were acts of vandalism in which wing mirrors on vehicles were broken in the area of calle Muro Aguilar. With decisive help from residents, the person responsible has been identified, a 13-year-old minor, whose father will cover the costs incurred. All the information has since been passed to the juvenile prosecutor’s office.
A vehicle was also found on the Manilva river track with its number plates bent, leading to the conclusion that it was being used to transport illegal substances or any type of material that could later be used to commit crimes.
In the coming days, according to Montero, officers will be sent to the «La Dehesilla» industrial estate to carry out checks on abandoned vehicles parked on the roads and also to monitor the activities taking place there.
As usual, officers are also making sure that people with reduced mobility can move around the municipality without any obstacles, such as badly parked vehicles, zebra crossings being blocked or vehicles wrongly parked on pavements.
Regarding the pandemic situation, several complaints have been received and processed for failing to observe opening hours, the incorrect use of face masks or failing to respect restrictions on movement between provinces.
