The victim suffered a head wound during the incident, although she did not need to be taken to hospital. Both arrested women have been released after appearing before a judge.
A woman and her underage daughter have been arrested in Manilva over their alleged involvement in an assault on the teenager’s grandmother, which took place last Friday at the family home, according to the information available about the incident.
Police intervention followed a call to the Emergencias 112 Andalucía service, which at midday raised the alarm about a suspected incident of violence in which a woman was reportedly being attacked by her daughter and granddaughter.
After receiving the alert, the coordination centre dispatched the Local Police, the Guardia Civil and health services, who went to the property to deal with the situation.
On arrival, officers found the woman with a wound to the back of her head. According to the account she reportedly gave to the officers, during a family argument her daughter and granddaughter allegedly hit her, causing her to fall to the floor. The victim herself attributed the injury to that fall.
The woman received medical treatment at the scene and did not need to be taken to a hospital.
The Guardia Civil took charge of the proceedings
Following the victim’s statements and the circumstances of the intervention, officers arrested the mother and daughter, who were at the home. The Guardia Civil subsequently took over the corresponding proceedings for an alleged offence of causing injury.
After appearing before a judge, in the minor’s case before the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, both were released.
The investigation concerns an incident that took place within the family and whose criminal liability will have to be determined in accordance with the relevant procedure.
