Francisco Vázquez, a Manilva resident and member of the local Club Ciclista, is already in A Coruña to take part in the Spanish Local Police Championship in the MTB category, an event open only to members of local police forces from across Spain, which was launched in 1998 and has grown steadily in participation and prestige ever since.
For this edition, a circuit has been prepared that runs through scenic spots along the coast, taking in la Redonda, the beaches of A Noa and Punto du Burro, the Suevos promenade (Arteixo), the Bens park and the ring road around the Club Deportivo La Coruña. The course is 12 kilometres long with an elevation gain of 300 metres, and riders will have to complete three laps. The winner will be proclaimed Spanish Local Police Champion. The start will take place on Saturday 24 September at 10:00.
Vázquez, who was already crowned Spanish runner-up in this same championship last year, thanked all the sponsors and collaborators who have supported his participation in this championship before leaving, including Tuentrenas, 14k, Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande, Autocaravanas Prokamper, Antonio Barbero, the Sports department of Manilva Town Hall, Serendipity and the San Roque Local Police headquarters.
