Following clear and repeated requests from Manilva Town Hall to various administrations and supramunicipal bodies, the imminent vaccination of essential services such as teachers, State Security Forces and Firefighters with the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines has been made public.

The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, has welcomed this news with satisfaction, as since last February the Town Hall has been insisting on the need for these sectors to receive their vaccine.

According to the town’s mayor: «since exactly 16 February we have been in permanent contact, through calls, messages and emails, with the relevant authorities to demand the necessary vaccination for those at greatest risk in their daily work, such as Local Police officers», he stated.

With this announcement from the Regional Ministry of the Presidency of the Junta de Andalucía, under Elías Bendodo, a response has been given to the municipal government’s incessant request to vaccinate the Local Police and Firefighters, who fall directly under its remit and provide an essential service.

To give them all the details, the mayor met with Local Police officers yesterday afternoon.

From this announcement onwards, it will be the Junta de Andalucía, as the sole competent body, that decides the days on which the vaccination will take place.
