The unemployment figures for February have been released. After five consecutive months of increases, the trend has been broken and unemployment in Manilva has fallen by 35 people, bringing the total to 1332, of whom 804 are women and 528 are men.

As for hiring, the number of employment contracts signed also rose, by 19 compared with the previous month, to 296 contracts: 179 for men and 117 for women.
The construction sector remains, for another month, the one generating the most jobs in February, with 102 new contracts, followed by hospitality with 52 new hires this month, and retail trade and vehicle repair with 24.
The labour reform is beginning to bear fruit in terms of contract temporariness, breaking the trend of recent months. This month there were 100 permanent contracts and 196 temporary ones. The under-25s were the age group with the fewest contracts, at 31; those aged 45 or over had 109 new contracts and those aged between 25 and 44 had 156.
The Employment Promotion department of Manilva Town Hall, headed by Marcos Ruiz, has also launched a web platform that gives local businesses an ideal tool, which is already starting to be used, to publish job offers or find potential candidates, who can also register on the application to post their CV.
