Officers from the Women and Minors Team (Emume) of the Judicial Police Unit of the Guardia Civil Command in Málaga have arrested two men and brought them before the courts over an alleged sexual assault on a woman who is believed to have been drugged (chemical submission) in Manilva.
According to the account released by the force in a statement, the incident took place on 30 September, when the victim reported to Guardia Civil officers in Manilva that she had woken up naked and semi-conscious on a beach in Sabinillas, in the same municipality, and that she had clear signs of having been sexually assaulted.
Given the seriousness of the incident, Emume officers from the Guardia Civil Command in Málaga travelled to the scene to assist the victim. On arrival, the woman was in a state of shock, extremely nervous and anxious. After being calmed by the investigators, she was taken to a health centre to receive treatment.
Following medical attention, the victim filed a complaint, which was added to the numerous enquiries and statements the investigators had already gathered, and which supported the conclusion that the victim had not consented to the sexual relations, as she was in a vulnerable state because of the chemical submission to which she had been subjected.
The officers continued to carry out extensive analysis of the information gathered, which enabled them to establish the involvement of two men in the events, whose identities they obtained shortly afterwards.
With all this evidence, and with prior authorisation from the judicial authority, they carried out searches of the homes of both individuals, in which they found the clothing they were wearing when the offence was committed. For this reason, the two men were arrested for the alleged commission of a sexual assault offence.
Likewise, the investigators arrested two other people for covering up the incident. The four detainees were brought before the judicial authority, which ordered protective measures for the victim.
The investigation was carried out by the Emume Team of the Judicial Police Unit of the Guardia Civil Command in Málaga and led by the judge of Examining Court number 3 in Estepona.
