Good news for Manilva: the Junta de Andalucía’s budgets include investments in the province of Málaga totalling €615.6 million for 2024, as highlighted by the regional minister for Economy, Finance and European Funds, Carolina España, at the presentation of next year’s provincial accounts, which include the creation of a second secondary school for the town.
At the presentation, Carolina España was accompanied by the regional minister for Employment, Business and Self-Employment, Rocío Blanco, the regional minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport, Arturo Bernal, and the Andalusian government’s delegate, Patricia Navarro. She stated that «these budgets do justice to Málaga, because Málaga has always contributed a great deal to the Andalusian government, but the Junta de Andalucía had not done the right thing, investing neither a fair amount nor what was necessary in Málaga».
The €615.6 million budget for 2024 is four times the 2019 investment (€153 million at that time) and represents a 32% increase on this year’s, almost €150 million more. «These are essentially social and investment-focused budgets, which once again demonstrate this Andalusian government’s commitment to Málaga», España stressed.
For 2024, almost €69 million of investment is planned, of which almost half is earmarked for expanding educational infrastructure, such as the new secondary school (IES) in Manilva and a primary school (CEIP) in Casares.
