The Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) union at Manilva Town Hall has broken its silence following the resignation in December of Manuel Gil, who was the councillor for Human Resources at the start of this term of office. Having exhausted his capacity for negotiation with the union representatives, he decided to make way for his colleague Diego José Jiménez.

Since then, according to a statement from the union, nobody has been able to call these representatives together to continue the negotiation agreement. However, CCOO claims: «they have been bold enough to pay bonuses to whomever they wanted, and to grant pay rises and job improvements at the councillor’s whim and without any objective criteria of ability or merit, an endless string of blunders which means this union cannot go along with this way of managing.»

At the same time, the union is highly critical of the internal workings of the Works Council, chaired by UGT with the support of CSIF, which it accuses of not holding meetings for months, as the collective agreement itself requires by law.

The union branch announces that it will not be permissive about everything that is happening and will do everything in its power to reverse the situation it says it is experiencing. To that end, Jose David Chavero, as union delegate, submitted a request through the Town Hall’s registry office on 8 January for information on appointments and bonuses awarded since 1 January 2020. At the time of publication of this press release, they are still awaiting a reply.
