A shooting in the streets of Manilva has ended with a man abandoned with a gunshot wound to the knee on the breakwaters of the Sotogrande marina. The Guardia Civil has opened an investigation to establish what happened.

According to the first indications, the man was taken by sea from the scene of the incident to this area of the Campo de Gibraltar, where he was found after the 112 emergency service received a call at around 1:20 in the morning alerting them to his presence. It appears he had not been landed long before.

The young man had been wounded in the knee by a firearm, according to the paramedics who treated him, on the breakwater near the heliport, an area that is difficult to access, so they requested the presence of the fire service to rescue him.

The 112 service mobilised the Guardia Civil and the Cádiz Provincial Fire Service Consortium. It was the firefighters who managed to rescue the injured man, about whom no further details have been released, and the health services took him to the hospital in La Línea de la Concepción. He later asked to be transferred to a hospital in Marbella, where he was taken.

Initially, according to police sources, the man was wounded during a shooting in the streets of Manilva. The investigation is focused on establishing the causes of the exchange of gunfire and whether it is linked to drug trafficking or some other criminal activity.
