Several vehicles hit by stones thrown from an overpass on the A-7

-

New testimonies point to more vehicles affected by objects thrown from the A-7 bridge between Castillo de la Duquesa and the Hotel Duquesa in Manilva.

New testimonies received by this outlet indicate that the incident that occurred recently on the overpass above the A-7, near Manilva, may have affected more drivers than was initially known.

A few days ago we published a video recorded from a vehicle which showed a person throwing a stone at a car travelling along the motorway in the direction of Algeciras. It was an extremely dangerous act that could have had far more serious consequences for the occupants of the vehicle.

Following the circulation of those images, which have reached 181,856 people and generated 27,000 interactions, several people affected have contacted this outlet to say that, allegedly at the same time and in the same area, other vehicles were also targeted from the same bridge.

According to the testimonies gathered so far, one of the cars was reportedly hit by several stones, while another driver says a pizza box was thrown at his vehicle. A third person affected says they were hit by a bag containing a very foul-smelling substance, apparently vomit, according to the information provided.

The affected drivers later met at the roundabout next to the Mini India restaurant, where, according to the person who was hit by the vomit, they thanked the owner of the establishment, who gave them enough water to clean the vehicle while they tried to contact the emergency services and the security forces to report what had happened.

According to those affected, after an initial call to the Guardia Civil, no officers were sent to the place where the vehicles were. However, in a second call, one of the drivers was told that the Local Police had been notified and that attempts were being made to locate those allegedly responsible.

In addition, another of those affected informed the 112 emergency service of what had happened after realising that several vehicles had been affected.

At the moment it is not known whether anyone has been identified or whether any complaints have been filed in connection with these events. However, those who have given testimonies expressed their concern about these events, which they say cannot be treated as a simple incident, and demand that responsibility be established and that an investigation be carried out until those responsible are found, adding that, given the video footage provided, tracking them down should not be very difficult.

This outlet will continue to gather information on this incident, and we encourage anyone who has been affected or who has relevant images or information to contact our newsroom or, better still, the Guardia Civil or the Local Police.
