The Ciudad de la Petanca in Sabinillas hosts a new sporting event this Thursday 23 February from 10:00.
The event is the Senior Petanque Tournament, a qualifier for the Diputación’s Málaga Provincial Championship, which this year will reach its third edition and in which almost all the municipalities in the province of Málaga will take part.
The competition is organised by the provincial body and its Social Welfare and Sports departments, headed by Paqui López and Manolo Gil.
In Thursday’s qualifier in Manilva, 16 local triplets will take part and will compete for a single available place, as in the other towns, in the III Provincial Tournament 2023.
The local teams, many of which are made up of members of the town’s Club CASAMA, are composed of people aged over 65.
The aforementioned departments are encouraging residents to attend this enjoyable sporting event, at which we will find out who our representatives will be in the Málaga tournament.
