The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, and the Town Hall’s Urban Planning councillor, Marcos Ruiz, have met with a representative of the company awarded the contract for the environmental impact study on the regeneration of El Castillo beach.

It should be remembered that the council already drew up a project and a tidal study in 2016, but the administrations involved, the regional department and the Ministry of the Environment, have now asked Manilva Town Hall for this latest study in order to grant the unified environmental authorisation. As a result, municipal officials have already set to work on a matter that is a priority for this governing team.

The launch of this project is of vital importance for the El Castillo neighbourhood. The construction of the transverse breakwater planned for this area would allow the beach to be regenerated and would remove the constant threat it poses to residents every time an easterly storm arrives.
