Manilva Town Hall, through the Festivals and Culture departments, has announced the programme of events organised for the Fiesta de la Vendimia.
Fully adapted to the current circumstances, the festival will not take its usual form, as crowds will be avoided at all times.
The programme is as follows:
– THURSDAY 2 SEPTEMBER.
From 16:30 to 20:30 in Plaza Martín Carpena, Gran Fiesta del Agua (Big Water Party).
– FRIDAY 3 SEPTEMBER.
At 22:30, in Plaza de la Vendimia, performance by «Pepe el Caja». (Free entry with advance booking at the Culture department).
– SATURDAY 4 SEPTEMBER.
*From 11:30 to 13:30 in Calle Mar, Bubble Football, children’s activities and games.
*At 19:00, Santa Misa Rociera (Rociera Holy Mass) in honour of the Virgen de los Dolores, officiated by the Parish Priest Fr José Antonio Melgar and sung by the Choir of the Escuela Municipal de Música, Danza y Teatro.
*After the service, anyone who wishes to may offer the fruit of their vines to the Virgin.
*At 22:30, performance by «Marta Quintero» in Plaza de la Vendimia. (Free entry with advance booking at the Festivals department).
– SUNDAY 5 SEPTEMBER.
*From 19:00 to 20:00 in Plaza de la Vendimia, Grape Bunch Competition with prizes for the three heaviest bunches. (Organised by the Agriculture department).
*At 20:00, OFFICIAL GRAPE TREADING CEREMONY (Limited capacity, first come, first served).
*At 22:00, performance by the group «Al Son del Potaje» (Limited capacity, first come, first served).
From Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 September, there will be fairground rides on the open ground in the Nueva Manilva area.
On Thursday, Children’s Day, rides cost 1€.
On the other days, 1.5€.
Opening hours:
Thursday from 20:00 to 00:00
Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 20:00 to 1:00.
Please note that the setting up of «sombrajos» (beach shelters) and bar counters, and music on terraces, are not permitted.
The councillors responsible for these areas, Daniel Muñoz, Alba Jiménez and Francisco Becerra, ask for public cooperation and for the proposed measures to be respected.
