Residents of Manilva have decided to speak out about the recurring problems with healthcare provision in the municipality. This Wednesday, 29 January 2025, at 7:45, a peaceful gathering will take place at the door of the Sabinillas Health Centre, with the aim of demanding improvements to medical services and decent healthcare for all residents.

The protest, organised by users tired of the lack of resources and the difficulties in getting medical appointments, seeks to draw the attention of the relevant authorities and to see solutions finally put in place for the increasingly poor service in the municipality. The problems at the health centre, such as the crush first thing in the morning to get one of the few numbers handed out each day, the shortage of doctors and staff, and delays in treatment, have led residents to take this initiative.

A call to action

The organisers, users who are tired of the situation, invite all residents to join this entirely peaceful gathering to show their support and to demand a healthcare service that meets the needs of the population. «If you have trouble getting a doctor’s appointment, now is the time to protest», they say in their call.

A problem that affects everyone

Manilva, like other municipalities on the Costa del Sol, has seen population growth in recent years, which has increased demand for healthcare services. However, resources have not kept pace, causing frustration among users.

The gathering in Sabinillas will be a first appeal to the relevant public authorities to take urgent measures and guarantee quality healthcare in the municipality.
