The unemployment figures for the month of October have been published, and the number of people out of work in the town has risen by 61.
The number of unemployed people in Manilva currently stands at 1251, made up of 523 men and 728 women.

As for hiring, this month saw 282 new employment contracts, 217 for men and 171 for women. Hospitality was once again the sector generating the most jobs, with 82 new contracts, followed by construction with 54, wholesale and retail trade with 36, manufacturing with 20 new contracts, and administrative activities and education with 18.
As for the type of contract, 100% of those signed in October were temporary. The under-25s were the age group with the fewest contracts, at 38, compared with 87 new contracts for those aged 45 or over and 157 for those aged between 25 and 44.
