Construction work on the new petanque facilities being built in the Maicandil area will give many residents of our town the chance to enjoy this sport.

The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, the councillor for Infrastructure and Works, Diego José Jiménez, and the Sports councillor, Manolo Gil, explained this to the members of the Petanca Casama club.

The councillors for Sports and for Works and Infrastructure, Manolo Gil and Diego José Jiménez respectively, visited the site to check on the progress of the work.

The modern facilities will have everything needed to enjoy this sport in the best conditions.

The complex will have 8 approved competition courts, toilets and perimeter fencing around the whole plot, which covers 1,000 m2.

This is a major project that aims to bring the activity outdoors and improve conditions in this area, which currently has three petanque courts. In short, it aims to improve residents’ quality of life through sport.

The work, which is funded by the provincial council’s provincial plans, amounts to €63,250 plus VAT.
