This morning a mural was unveiled in the Plaza de la Vendimia in Manilva.

Conceived by the Parks and Gardens department, headed by Francisco Becerra, and created by local artist José Tirado, the image depicts sign language, with the aim of helping the youngest children understand the importance of being inclusive.

As Becerra points out, the department he leads has built a number of inclusive play areas in the municipality’s various parks, and this line of work will continue, a good example of which is the mural located in the aforementioned area.

The first deputy mayor, Diego José Jiménez, explained that it is essential to promote sign language. In addition, the Infrastructure and Works department is also carrying out work that prioritises the removal of architectural barriers.

As a society, it is everyone’s responsibility to educate people about inclusion from the earliest age and, in particular, through language.
