The council chamber at Manilva Town Hall hosted a meeting to inform and advise on the subsidies available to local farmers who produce raisins.
The meeting was promoted by the Agriculture department and was attended by raisin producers, councillor Francisco Becerra and staff from UPA.
The Unión de Pequeños Agricultores y Ganaderos de Andalucía (UPA) is a professional farming organisation that represents, defends and provides services to agriculture and livestock professionals in the Andalusia region.
The meeting covered the 2022 CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) subsidies from the Junta de Andalucía, and all kinds of questions about what is new in these subsidies were answered.
Francisco Becerra explained that, thanks to the existing collaboration agreement with UPA, residents of Manilva who apply for this aid receive suitable advice, since completing the application correctly and submitting it within the established deadline is of great importance in order to avoid possible penalties or even not receiving the aid at all.
