The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, and the head of the Social Services area, Pilar Zúñiga, have received at the Town Hall two Ukrainian families who have arrived in our town fleeing the horror of the war.
In both cases they had relatives settled in our town, who asked the mayor for the help needed to face and begin a new life.
The necessary arrangements have been made immediately to enrol the children in school and even to enable them to take part in the sporting activities of local clubs.
In addition, they will be given help to get the covid vaccination so that they can complete their doses.
The mayor assured them that everything that can be done for these citizens and is within the Town Hall’s reach will be done, as: «in the face of such a critical situation for these people, who unfortunately have had to leave everything behind, even family members, in their country, we must show once again that Manilva is a caring community and that it welcomes any citizen with the respect and consideration they deserve», he said.
