Manilva is getting ready once again to celebrate its Fiesta de la Vendimia, one of the town’s most emblematic events, which has been declared a Festival of Tourist Singularity in Andalucía. On 6 and 7 September, residents and visitors can enjoy a full programme combining tradition, music and a variety of activities.

Saturday 6 September: Mass, procession and music

The day will begin at 19:30 with Holy Mass in honour of Ntra. Sra. de los Dolores (Our Lady of Sorrows), sung by the Choir of the Municipal Music School in Santa Ana church. Afterwards, the image will be carried in procession to calle Mar, accompanied by the Municipal Music Band, where the traditional competition for the heaviest bunch of grapes will also be held.

From 22:30, calle Mar will be the setting for music and dancing with performances by the groups Latidos and Kalima.
In the Plaza de la Vendimia, the resident DJs Pablo Drazza, Becerra and Pájaro will set the rhythm throughout the night, until the eagerly awaited performance by the international DJ and producer Iván Ortiz, who, together with “Tony Toba” and his “Santo Perreo”, will get the crowd going from 02:30.

Sunday 7 September

Sunday, also known as the “Domingo Rociero”, will be the most eagerly awaited day of the Vendimia, with free tastings of wine and grapes, as well as traditional gifts for those attending.

At 13:00 the daytime fair will be opened on calle Mar, followed at 13:30 by the parade of horse riders, organised in collaboration with the Peña Caballista de Manilva.

From 14:00, the groups A Compás Musical, Latidos and Compás Flamenco will fill the streets of Manilva with music and dancing, with performances on various stages.

In the Plaza de la Vendimia, from 16:00, the resident DJs Pablo Drazza, Becerra and Pájaro will be back, livening up the afternoon with the best hits of the moment.

One of the most traditional events will take place at 19:00, with the grape treading and the tasting of the first wine, a symbolic gesture that represents the essence of this festival and pays tribute to winegrowing, a historic activity of great importance in Manilva.

The highlight of the day will come at 21:30, with a performance by the covers band Trueno Azul, which will bring a weekend full of emotion and tradition to a close.
