The Cleaning department, headed by Paqui López, has released the figures for the waste generated in the town.

In mid-August 2021, a peak of 50,000 kg was recorded, which points to a significant increase in the population, bearing in mind that in 2019, at the same time of year, the maximum was 40,000 kg, while in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, 42,000 kg of urban solid waste were collected in a single day.

With the figures for August still to be released, those for July this year (2021) total 1,146 kg, which means that 111 kg more have been produced this year than in the same period of 2020. This brings the figures closer to those recorded before the pandemic caused by Covid-19.

According to the Cleaning councillor, these reports corroborate the recovery under way in Manilva, given the large number of visitors who enjoy our town during the summer period.

The councillor also highlighted the important work carried out every day by the Cleaning Service, while pointing out that, although there are still improvements to be made, the work is daily and constant.

Manilva Town Hall, through this department, thanks the vast majority of Manilva’s residents for their commitment to recycling and, therefore, to the environment.
