This morning, as planned, an information meeting was held between members of the Governing Team and a municipal technician and the business owners and residents with businesses and homes on the seafront promenade.
The councillor for Infrastructure and Works, Diego José Jiménez, and Marcos Ruiz, head of Urban Planning, appeared before around twenty residents to inform them in detail about the redevelopment and beautification works on the promenade.
The start of the works, which is imminent, will involve adapting the section in question so that businesses and homes face as few difficulties as possible and are not adversely affected.
Bureaucratic procedures, permits from the institutions and the drawing up of the project by the Diputación have delayed the start of this work, which is estimated to take eight months, although the municipal representatives said: «we will be on site every day, dealing individually with every reasonable request from residents. Furthermore, compliance with the deadlines will be required and, in short, the work will be finished as soon as possible».
During the high seasons, such as Holy Week and summer, the works will be reorganised so that business owners can operate their businesses with the least possible disruption.
