Following its approval at the council meeting last Thursday, work to link Avenida de la Constitución with Avenida de la Paz in Sabinillas will begin shortly. It was one of the 5 election promises that the mayor, Mario Jimenez, signed before a notary to lend them credibility, and which were presented as part of the Compromiso Manilva election manifesto for the last municipal elections.
An underpass beneath the A7 will connect the upper part of Sabinillas, improving traffic flow and reducing the congestion caused by the traffic lights at the entrance to this urban area.
The same project includes the construction of an underground car park in the Colonia area with space for 250 vehicles. It will be publicly managed and will resolve the lack of parking in Sabinillas, thereby overcoming the main obstacle to keeping the fair in the centre of Sabinillas, which had caused so many complaints.
So as not to inconvenience residents, this work will start once the work on Avenida de Miraflores, the extension of the Sabinillas school, the full renovation of the Paseo Marítimo and the taxi rank has been completed, so a great deal of patience and understanding is requested.
