All the liturgical events of Holy Week 2022 will officially begin on Saturday 9 April at the Iglesia de San Luís, once the necessary works on the parish church have been completed. That day, from 19:30, there will be the pregón (the opening address) given by Carmen Castillo Sánchez.
Palm Sunday will be held on 10 April, from 12:30, with the Blessing of the Palms and the Olive Branch in Plaza Costa del Sol Sabinillas, followed by Mass in the parish church.
In addition, a Mass will be held on Tuesday 12 April at 19:00 in honour of the Patron Images: Ntra. Sra de los Dolores and the Santísimo Cristo del Amor. During the service, medals will also be presented to the new members of the aforementioned Brotherhood.
Maundy Thursday will take place on 14 April at the church, from 21:00, followed by the Via Crucis and the Holy Hour, along the streets Marques de Larios, Picasso, Duquesa de Arcos and La Colonia.
The Holy Offices and the Adoration of the Cross are planned for the parish of San Luis on Friday 15 April at 17:00, while at 21:30 the procession of the Cristo del Amor and Nuestra Señora de los Dolores will pass through the streets of Sabinillas.
On Holy Saturday, the Church of San Luis will host the Easter Vigil at 21:00. Holy Week 2022 will conclude on Easter Sunday, 17 April, with Holy Mass at 10:00 and, at 11:00, the procession of the Risen Christ and the Virgen de la Alegría.
The Culture department, whose councillor is Alba Jiménez, has invited all residents to take part in all the events planned for Holy Week in our town.
