In recent days, «Fruit Day» has been celebrated in schools. This Wednesday it was the turn of the colegio San Luis in Sabinillas, where nursery and primary school pupils marked the day with the collaboration of the education department and the school’s AMPA (parents’ association).
The pupils had the chance to try seasonal fruits such as melon, watermelon and banana. With this initiative, the department led by councillor Fina Gómez aims to teach pupils good eating habits from an early age, which is why the department fully supports this activity.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Manilva, José Manuel Fernández, as well as enjoying the fruit, which is very beneficial for the body, highlighted the importance of both children and adults eating this type of food every day. He also took the opportunity to play with the youngest children, who were delighted with the mayor’s visit.
It is worth noting that this activity is held every year in the municipality’s three schools, as well as in the nursery schools.
