The unemployment figures for May have been published. For the fourth consecutive month the number of people out of work in Manilva has fallen, with 94 fewer people, bringing the total to 1136, of whom 677 are women and 459 are men.
The works on the Sabinillas promenade, which have almost brought to a standstill one of the sectors that generates the most employment in the municipality, the hospitality industry, are still not having an excessive effect on these figures. They will in all likelihood improve further in the coming months as the high season arrives and the businesses along the promenade are able to reopen with some degree of normality.
