Tomorrow, Friday 8 April, at 10:30, the first meeting will be held to set up the committee for the Equality Plan at Manilva Town Hall.

The meeting will be attended by municipal officials, workers’ representatives and Town Hall employees.

Also attending will be the equality officer and promoter, Trinidad Borneo, who has already held an initial meeting with the Social Welfare councillor, Paqui López, in order to lay the foundations for the plan.

Manilva Town Hall aims to bring an awareness of equality to every corner of the municipality and to put it into practice through a range of actions.

In accordance with Organic Law 3/2007 of 22 March for the effective equality of women and men, this meeting will address the selection and recruitment process, staff classification, training and professional promotion, as well as examine working conditions for women and men.

The area director, Pilar Zúñiga, said that other issues will also be put on the table, such as the prevention of sexual harassment, pay, and the shared exercise of rights relating to personal, family and working life.

For the past two years, the Social Welfare department has been working hard on a number of proposals with one clear aim: equality in all areas, starting with the youngest. On this occasion, that goal will be extended to the various workers who make up the municipal departments.

This is an Equality Plan that will benefit the smooth running of both the workforce and the administration.
