The Regional Ministry of Health and Families carried out a mass screening today, Monday 21 June, of 89 people out of the 450 summoned by SMS.

Despite the Town Hall’s efforts to organise three mass screenings, the response has not been what was hoped for. It should be remembered that the management of and decisions on the screening, the selection of people and the way it is carried out are the responsibility of the Directorate General of Public Health and Pharmaceutical Regulation of the Junta de Andalucía.

Of the 89 residents who were willing to take the test, which consists of an antigen test, considered equivalent in diagnostic capacity to PCR tests, the result was one positive.

Manilva currently has an incidence rate of 231.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Health department councillor Eva Galindo and councillors Marcos Ruiz, Diego José Jiménez and Paqui López went to the site to observe how the tests were being carried out.

The mayor, Mario Jiménez, spoke of the good pace of vaccination in our town and the need to continue complying with the regulations in force.
