The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, the councillor for infrastructure and works, Diego José Jiménez, the councillor for education, Daniel Muñoz, and the councillor for urban planning, Marcos Ruiz, visited the San Luis school in San Luis de Sabinillas this morning, where they met the contracted company to finalise the details of the start, next week, of the extension works, whose basic project has been drawn up by the municipal architect, Susana Jurado.
Following the removal of the prefabricated classrooms and the addition of two classrooms at the San Luis school in San Luis de Sabinillas, a municipal allocation of €631,151.51 is now being added for the extension of this school.
The mayor said that this governing team is giving special importance to education, hence the large investment being made in the extension of the Sabinillas school, which will benefit the school community.
The mayor recalled that this is a term of office focused on improvements in education, and even went so far as to say that talks are being held with the provincial delegation and the regional education department itself so that the municipality can have a new secondary school, which would relieve the current one, which is overcrowded.
For his part, the education councillor, Daniel Muñoz, said that continuing to work for the wellbeing of those who are studying is a priority.
Muñoz recalled that only a few days ago the news was announced that the two new classrooms had been completed, which will come into use in the next school year, once their equipping has been carried out.
For his part, the councillor for infrastructure and works, Diego José Jiménez, said he was proud of the investment, which will have an impact on the school community, and that from now on the department he heads will be responsible for supervising that the works are carried out in accordance with the project drawn up for this extension.
The councillor also recalled both the replacement of the prefabricated classrooms by the Junta de Andalucía and the two new classrooms built by the Town Hall, which are already a reality. The number and also the quality of the spaces at the San Luis school are therefore being increased.
The works to be undertaken will make it possible to add 5 more classrooms and to create an open-plan space that can serve as a theatre, a common area for activities or other types of events, and it will even have an exit to the outside so that the Town Hall can make use of some of them.
Although it is a considerable effort, the local government has considered it essential to provide the municipality’s schools with the best facilities and, within the Town Hall’s means, this will be done with all schools.
