Diego José Jiménez, head of the Infrastructure and Works department at Manilva Town Hall, has visited the extension works at the Municipal Music School together with municipal technicians.
Jiménez has held talks with those in charge of the contracted company about the details of the work under way and the work due to be carried out shortly.
In recent days the existing pergola in this area has been dismantled. It was cut up and, using a very large crane, taken to the landfill site on lorries, which made the operation quicker and cleaner than demolishing it on site. This work was carried out over two days.
The work is progressing at a good pace and deadlines are being met.
The project will provide the school with a «Dance Rehearsal Room» on the ground floor and a «Band Rehearsal Room» on the upper floor. The air conditioning, electricity, lighting and network connection systems will be modernised and their energy efficiency optimised.
The extension will also be used to change the current layout, including the Reception Hall and the Staff Room on the upper floor, and to create a new entrance and reception on the ground floor.
Maintenance and conservation work will also be carried out on the building, such as waterproofing and thermal insulation of the roofs and façades of the entire building.
