Manilva’s Sports councillor, Rogelio Pascual, has visited the sports facilities in the Maicandil area and the leisure area at the fairground. During the visit, the councillor was accompanied by his work team. The main aim of the visit was to assess the scope for improvements that can be made to these facilities.

As users of these facilities have been reporting, and as our newspaper has been echoing for years, the Maicandil facilities are heavily used and need perimeter fencing to make them safe, as they are very close to the road.

Meanwhile, at the fairground, users told us about the state of the basketball hoops on one of the courts, where it was practically impossible to play, and even dangerous. Following our public complaint about the state of the hoops, the Town Hall decided to remove them a few days later, leaving only one of the courts in use, so we assume that this visit reflects the Sports department’s intention to replace them, as these facilities are also widely used by residents.
