The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, together with the head of Infrastructure and Works, Diego José Jiménez, and councillors Marcos Ruiz, Alba Jiménez and Manolo Gil, visited the extension works under way at the School of Music, Dance and Theatre, located on Plaza de Orfeo.
The mayor described the facilities as a cultural benchmark on the Costa del Sol, which will be available early next year to the many students enrolled each year.
As Jiménez explained, the work is currently focused on building the metal structure, which will support the floor slab of the new construction.
Diego José Jiménez highlighted the major investment in projects aimed at promoting education and culture, such as the extension of the Municipal School of Music, which welcomes students of all ages, both from the town and from other localities.
The project is coordinated by the head of Town Planning, Marcos Ruiz, together with the architect and the quantity surveyor of this department.
These visits by municipal officials are carried out to check and monitor that the work is progressing well and that the established deadlines are being met, as is currently the case.
The extension will be completed by the end of the year and in January students will find notably improved facilities, which will raise the quality of the service they provide.
