Manilva Local Police have arrested two men on suspicion of involvement in a series of burglaries committed in recent days at various locations around the town.
The arrests took place in the early hours of last Thursday, at around 4am, during an operation by Manilva Local Police. Officers intercepted the suspects in the vicinity of Villa Matilde park, where, on being caught by surprise, they tried to flee but failed.
After a brief chase, the two individuals, both natives of Manilva, were finally arrested.
Burglaries at municipal facilities and homes
Investigations suggest that those arrested may be responsible for a wave of burglaries that has affected several municipal facilities over the past week, including the sports complex, Villa Matilde park and the Goleto. At these locations, the culprits are believed to have forced doors and windows to gain access and steal a sound system and tools.
The possible involvement of the two men in break-ins at homes and rural properties on the outskirts of Manilva over recent weeks is also being investigated.
The two men arrested have been handed over to the Guardia Civil
