«Listen, Mohsin, we’re going to blow up here, God willing», «by Allah, I will blow myself up». Such were the clear intentions of an alleged jihadist, arrested in 2019 after pledging allegiance to Daesh, in a video he sent by WhatsApp to his «cousin Moshin» and which he recorded in August 2018 with his face in close-up and the Manilva fairground (Málaga) in the background, where he was living.
Mohamed Louarti, who, in light of this recording, was feared to be planning an attack at the Manilva fair, will go on trial next Wednesday at the Audiencia Nacional. The prosecutor is seeking 8 years in prison for him for membership of a terrorist organisation or, alternatively, a sentence of 6 or 4 years for indoctrination.
On 4 January 2019, the defendant publicly posted on his Facebook profile, «Anwar Andalusí», an oath of allegiance to Daesh, «a condition understood as a prior step to reaching paradise through martyrdom», which led to his arrest eleven days later, according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in its indictment.
