The Manilva Town Hall is working on the Cooperativa plot, located on the carretera del Peñoncillo, due to its neglected state.
The area is being cleaned up through maintenance work consisting of clearing scrub and cleaning the whole site.
The mayor, Mario Jiménez, who visited the site with the Cleaning and Town Planning councillors, Paqui López and Marcos Ruiz respectively, explained that the property was in an unsanitary condition and looked unsightly, and could pose a fire risk, with the harm this entails for residents of this part of the municipality.
The Town Hall, in response to repeated notices to the owner of the property, has decided to act to maintain this abandoned plot.
As Jiménez explains, the next steps on the planning side are aimed at acquiring the plot for use as a public facility.
